The new Palm Pixi is smaller in size and configuration when compared with Pre . The full qwerty keypad is not slidout , resulting in extra length of the device .There is a 2.6 inch capacitive touch screen that is smaller than in Palm Pre . Unlike in Palm Pre ,Pixie will only have a 2 mega pixel camera with flash. Plam Pixi will be available with customizable back ground covers similar to option in choosing Dell laptops in artist series. For Palm Treo smartphone users and GPS enthusiasts, Palm, Inc. today announced the Palm GPS Navigator Smartphone Edition, featuring new TomTom NAVIGATOR 6 software. Drivers using the new GPS Navigator with their Treo smartphones can rely on voice-guided, turn-by-turn directions to easily find their destinations as well as millions of points of interest, including gas stations, restaurants, parks, airports and more. TomTom NAVIGATOR 6 is initially available only with Palm's GPS Navigator Smartphone Edition.
Palm has done it again by raising the bar one step higher. On May 15, 2006 Palm announced the Treo 700p running the Palm OS. During this announcement they announced two partners Sprint and Verizon will be carrying the first EVDO Palm Treo 700p. A huge step for Palm since this is first Palm OS based Treo to support EVDO. Sprint customers truly luck out first since the 700p will be released first with Sprint then following Verizon.
