Verizon Motorola DROID

Quick, fast and blazing experience

The Droid is the first product to spring forth from Verizon's partnership with Google, and the device appears to be a compelling alternative to Apple's touchscreen handset. The Droid's 3.7-inch capacitive screen is larger than the iPhone's display, and it also feature a full slide-out keyboard. The physical keyboard doesn't add too much bulk though, as the Droid is only slightly thicker than the iPhone. Sit back and take a look at the latest Android based device from Motorola.

ok i did it I went to Verizon today and got this phone, I love it, this is a fan freakintastic phone, I have to play with it to learn more about it but so far I think this is up there with my top 3 phones right now.
Gotta have this device, but I am not sure I am ready to take the plunge yet. I have sen some good things with Android, this phone being the best so far but with it only being in version 2.0 and something like this has already landed, what could be next?
Do you know if the multimedia station is available for purchase yet?
Hi I was wondering if they have a true t9 app for the moto droid
Case looks like crap and who wants a car solution without an active dock..

Great reviews! Droid is the first device that I would even considder replacing my 3GS.
Michael,

Unless you have problems with the construction quality or hardware design, there is this concept called "updating software over the Internet". The other phones mentioned are triumphs and great choices, but I expect everything from the OS to the drivers to be updated on a regular basis -- after all, this is Google and their deal vs. Microsoft is Internet connectivity.

I can't wait to see what it will be in a year either -- but I'll get that "better" a little chunk at a time. But particularly with the iPhone, I certainly expect Apple to already have a killer product in their labs, ready to go. Is private business / competition great or what?
Nice video Dave!
Cant wait to see this a year from now. Seems a bit janky right now, hit or miss with a lot of features. PalmPre and iPhone have the Droid beat IMO.
