A few weeks back at CeBit we saw a first glimpse of the soon to be released I-Mate Smart Flip. Well during the next few weeks I will go over my first impressions of this facinating smartphone. The unit I have is a preproduction unit so I will not be going over the out of the box experience. Users should also note this is not a branded phone so specs can definitely change depending on the OEM. This clamshell phone runs Windows Mobile 5 for Smartphone edition long with being th first clamshell model made by HTC. How can one not notice the RAZOR look and feel that draws you towards this phone.

One of the most amazing features of this phone is the display which is bright and the colors are vibrant

The right side of the unit features the sync slot along with the camera button to take pictures.

On the left side of the unit it features the volume control along with a button that can be mapped. My unit came mapped to the Comm Manager

OK I had to spill the beans I also have the Mio A701 so lets see how they compare!

this is the old design, HTC they changed the keypad design i will have them in pink as well. stay tune for review

I have been following this phone's release since it was "leaked" a while back. It is kind of like waiting for christmas! I even blogged about it here: http://www.techpersonality.com/general_rants/is_this_the_smartphone_of_my_dreams.html

I live in Australia, and already have my supplier lined up as soon as it is released. We get the i-Mate version of HTC phones out here really quickly - so I will do a "real life" review when I get it. Still a bit "shakey" on the date - they still say April - but Ihave my doubts!

Man, a WM5 Razr. Any idea if any US carriers have this on their radar? How is the dialing pad for T9 use? Did you find a mini-SD slot under the battery?
