So Is It Worth It? ---YOU BET IT IS!

The Best of Everything Software Package

Pocket PC magazine has offered a special deal to you, the Pocket PC user. This is a very comprehensive package of software that contains over 100 Award-Winning Software Programs from Pocket PC magazine's 2004 Best Software Awards. These programs were chosen from an illustrious group of individuals that know and understand Pocket PC software and because of a unique rating system; programs that make it to the finals and are ultimately chosen as a "winner" in a particular category are in the truest sense the "Best Software"!

Think about it, how often have you looked at a piece of software and wondered if it was any good? Now that worry is virtually non-existent because you know that if it won the Pocket PC Magazine's 2004 Best Software Award, it was chosen by a large group of folks that have been working with and testing the software. With the large number of judges and the hours of testing by each, it is a pretty safe bet that the software is going to perform at an extraordinary level.

OK, so you’re convinced that the software is “Top Notch”. You know that folks have tested, played and run every conceivable test to determine that it warranted an award --- but it just seems as if it’s a lot of money to shell out. Or is it?

A quick look at the amount of software that is available (more than I would ever use) and the total price if you purchased it all, the $280 for a package that retails for $2373 is a huge bargain. Just slightly above 10% of the cost --- that’s a BIG bargain. But $280 bucks --- whew, that sure seems like a lot, doesn’t it? Or is it?

If you amortize it over a year, it’s about 75 cents a day. How many of you waste a buck a day on just plain ole “dumb things”? I do and thinking about this purchase started to make me think about how I spend my money. Eating that extra donut in the morning or stopping at a convenience store for a candy bar that I really don’t need are just a couple of examples of money that I let go through my fingers. Or that heavy foot on the gas pedal --- at $2.25 a gallon, that adds up over a year.

OK, I am “sort of” convinced that I do waste a lot of cash and if I was just a bit more reasonable, I could afford to shell out the cash for these programs. But over a 100 programs --- am I really going to download and use 100 programs? I don’t think so! Too much, too many and time is just not there to do it all. So what makes it worth it?

As I looked at the list, there were a variety of programs that I’ve always wanted but just never went that extra mile to get them. All of a sudden the thought occurred to me, this is a very cool way for me to get just about every program I ever wanted plus more.

Was it worth it? --- You bet it was!

Boy if the two programs I have _tried_ to use off this CD are any indication, the PPC software market is extremely immature. Program 1: Battery Pack Pro had so many bugs (corrupts Today Screen, causes soft resets every couple of hours, etc, etc, trashed the hardware buttons). That I had to remove it after 2 days use). Program 2, DVD to Pocket PPC, Can't handle movies over 167 minutes long. Has unidentified problems with other DVDs (just quits working) and numerous other errors.

All in all pretty shabby work.

The good news? At least I didn't pay full price for this junk and _maybe_ I'll find some software that does work reliably.
I've spent well over $400 on software over the past year and a half.....I would've bought this package if only it was available sooner!
Check it out. They even have a spreadsheet that allows you to check off the programs you want so you can see if spending the $280 is worth it for you. I have purchased this software collection and can only say great things about it. The registration process is simple and they contact all vendors for you and you get your registration information e-mailed to you.
I cant tell you how much i have spent but I know its in the hundreds of dollars so for someone new it might be a good fit.

And it is a no brainer even if you are not starting off new. I have a lot of programs, most are pretty good but with this CD, I now have rounded out my "collection" with the programs I have always wanted to get but just never did.

The savings for me was HUGE and the satisfaction was even bigger!!
Click here and read how it works. It is a RISK FREE OFFER, you really can't lose.

The CD reads "Demos of the best pocket pc software" are they all just demos or upon trying them do i contact PPC Magazine and ask for the regestration codes of the software?
I'd seen this offer but couldn't make really good use of it because I had an older MIPS-based pocket pc -- a Casio E125. It just would never die! But finally, I couldn't stand not having something new (I gave the Casio to my daughter who is LOVING IT!) so I sprang for an Ipaq 4700 (nice choice, but still not perfect). Anyway, once I had a new target in hand, you better believe I jumped on this deal! I did exactly the same thing Jack did: sat with the software list, added up the total of the ones I'd have purchased anyway, and found that it would have taken me only 8 programs to reach $280. It's a no brainer if you have a new Pocket PC to load up!
I did a quick analysis and it is definitely a good deal for me. There is sooo much!
I think it is a bargain. I just have not done it because I was not sure. Thanks for the review Jack, I like the way you looked at it. It was very helpful.
I don't know if that was a popular consensus. That certainly was not an issue I have ever heard.

Frankly, I felt it was well worth investigating for our readers. It is a terrific bargain for those that want a library of software that is ALL TOP NOTCH!

Everything in life is a choice. If one decides to get the package, then they will have saved an extraordinary amount of money. If they choose not to get the package...they still save money (because they didn't spend any).

You have to decide if it is the right deal for you...for me, it was!
This package has been out for awhile. The popular consensus was that it wasn't worth the money and not too many people would spend the kind of money to get it's content.
