Great review Jack! I have been using one of these for the past 6 months or so. It really is a fantastic product. I chose to mount with a ProClip mount right on the dash and it absolutely rock solid.

The permanent power adapter is an optional accessory.

The beauty of the iROCK! is that the cable is long enough to use if you want but the speaker on the Seidio is terrific so that is what I used...which enabled me to still use my XM radio through my stereo as I was driving. I use the iROCK! with my XM portable unit.

Excellent review Jack!

If only they could merge the Seido with some of that "Audio to FM broadcasting" technology like we saw with your IROCK reviews. Then you could listen to your MP3 collection while you drive, and hear your GPS audio prompts in stereo...

Lastly, does the kit include a permanent power wiring cable, in case I want to free up the DC adapter cable and permanently install the unit?

I am very happy with this mount Dave. With all the traveling I am doing now, it has become an invaluable tool in my iPAQ accessory bag!
