Question Hx4705 touch screen broken

Hello all 4700 users

My beloved hx4705 touch screen broke. I thought of getting a recommendation for a repair place from here.

Any help would be appreciated

Please PM if it is inappropriate to post this kind of information on this forum.

Thank you,

Without a doubt the best place to get your 4705 repaired is Pocket PC Techs.

Good Luck

This is completely OK to post this question in this forum. As Reidan said - the best place is pocketpctechs - I have used them twice and they are great.

I would start by checking the connectors and cables. Make sure they are pushed all the way into the connectors and that the cables are not damaged, crimped, etc.

For owners in Europe, www.ipaqrepair.co.uk is worth a look. I haven't used their services but there's some good advice on the site, together with a range of spares and services they offer.
I've defected to a 214, and it's price isn't much more than that of a new screen, fitted professionally ($300 in some Canadian stores, I hear.) The hx4700 still has something about it that I prefer but I won't go back to it. I think the 128Mb RAM and massive SD/CF storage made the deal.
Good luck.
