Keyboard Tips and Misc Tricks
Here's a list of keyboard shortcuts and other stuff for reference.
Internet Explorer:
Option + Left = Jumps to the top of the page
Option + Right = Jumps to the bottom of the page
Option + Up or Down = Page up/Page down (skips links!)
Option + Green Key (Send) = Jumps to Address Bar
------------------------------------------------------ General
Option + Shift = Search
Option + OK = Memory/Task Manager (to close apps)
Hold Down "OK" = Memory/Task Manager (to close apps)
Option + Win = Calendar
Option + Red Key (End) = Force "Keyguard Lock"
Option + P = Control Screen Brightness
Hold Down Enter Key (center D-Pad) = SubMenu popup
Green Key = Brings you back to Today screen/Minimizes Current App
D-Pad Left or Right = Toggle between Inboxes (includ. Text/SMS)
Green Key = Dial Contact. If you have a email open or highlighted and hit the Green Key and that person is in your contacts, you can dial directly.
Quick SMS (NEW!):
If you type in a name on the today screen for lookup and you have the name you want highlighted, you can press and hold the center button of the dpad and a dialog box will pop up and say something along the lines of "Send text message to..."
Select it and it will automatically open messaging with a text message pre-addressed to that person.
Delete Call Log (from Phone/Green Key pop-up menu): Delete palmVol.vol under My Device (Root Directory)
Hide "Lookup Field" on Today Screen: Menu --> Preferences --> Hide Lookup Field (typing any letter on the Today screen will pop-up this Lookup field and Hide when you are done automatically)
Turn Off/On Phone Radio: Hold Down Red Key till you see Sprint Logo
Up - D-Pad (during call): minimizes the In Call screen so you can access the Today screen and other functions
A great Tweak Ive been using on my wx is ( Mavric hide logo version 1.1
After installation you will need to refresh the today screen or soft reset .Your Sprint or Cingular carrier plugin will no longer be visabel freeing up valuble screen space on today screen
It will only work if you have "Hide lookup field" checked
To turn off uncheck the hidelogo option from your today menu.
The Default Date Plugin is part of the same api as the sprint logo.
You will need (LVM_time_100) plugin installed to get Date view on today screen when hidelogo is active.

Here is a very simple way to change your alert sound when putting in and taking out your SD memory card
You will need a registry editor installed on your device.
Registry Edit software in post#9 of thread
CAUTION: It,s very Importent to backup all data on your WM Treo before making changes to registry.
First of all you need to figure what alert sound you want to replce the old ones with.
I put together some alert sounds in zip files below-Cardin and Cardout.There very cool,They Get your attention and oh yeah they talk hmm Im a ppc nerd what can I say
Put Cardin and Cardout alert sounds in your windows folder.Open registry editor and go in this order
+ HKEY_CURRENT_USER
+ControlPanel
+Volume
SDinsertSound
SDremoveSound
open SDinsertsound .change current alert to-- Cardin.wav
open SDremoveSound .change the current alert to-- Cardout.wav
Congradlations When putting in or taken your sd card out of your device you have new alert sounds
If you want to change the alert sound in the future..very simple
rename your new alerts to cardin and cardout and drop the in windows folder.tap replace and sound will change.no need to go back in reg

WM treo's owners have been needing this feature for a long time.Many Thanks to hannip for making it happen
Led alert for missed call,v-mail or text messeges can now be had with some great software coming together.
MortScript can read and write to the registry, execute programs and subroutines and functions.The NLED file is a code working with mortscript pulling out whats needeed from ledup making alerts possable.
Contained in zip below are Mortscrip,Ledup and Nled.
Install Mortscript and Ledup on treo.Copy the nled script to your mortscript folder located in programs then past a shortcut of nled script to your windows startup folder.
Softreset your device led alert is had

UPDATE-Ive never been able to figure out computer programing but Ive made a step forward with mortscript
I made some modafacation to the nled script which many will like
When you have your ringer on mute the LEd Alert is turned off.
When ringer is switched on LED alert reactivates
Nled-Ringer mute Led off script in zip below.
If you are using the first nled script posted deleat from device before installing updated nled script

Does this affect any other functions on the 700wx?
When you push your green key/send you will notice Phone numbers from past calls in pop up.Heres the way to clear them.It seem complacated but very simple
press the green key>call log>menu>filter>all calls>menu>deleate

We can ajust how long the side button needs to be pushed opening up apps
Open reg edit software then follow these steps.
\HKLM\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\KEYBD
Change the D word value PressAndHoldDelay.Your original setting is 1000
I DO NOT RECCOMEND SETTING IT BELOW 250
I have mine set at 500 with less key hold for faster application start
A softreset will be need for reg tweak to take effect
ADVICE FOR THE DARE DEVILS:::::IF FOR SOME RESION YOU WANT TO TRY SETTING IT BELOW 250 DONT GET FREAKED OUT WHEN KEYLOCK WILL NOT LET YOU INTO TODAY SCREEN.IF THIS SHOULD HAPPEN JUST MAKE A CALL TO YOUR HANDSET,,KEYGAURD WILL OPEN THEN ADJUST SETTING TO A HIGHER NUMBER LIKE 250 OR ABOVE

I never liked the call log icons on my old hw6515 so I changed them. Here they are optimized for the Treo 750 (Actually will work for any windows mobile 5 device).
Just place these images in your windows folder over-writing existing image files. You may want to back up the windows images first - just in case you want to go back the the fugly days...
The plugin runs pretty smooth with no functions affected.
I went to this page from my Treo and saved the file. However, it didn't save a a .cab file as my Treo screen only showed it as a .pbl?
The file wouldn't run when I tried to open it on my Treo. I know I'm a n00b so have patience. What did I do wrong?

You must first get the cab file out of zip.This can be done by downloading zip file to PC.Once zip file is on desktop extract cab file from within.
Sync your Pda to PC then copy/ past cab file to your ..my document folder on pda.
On your Pda theres a program called file explorer which can be found on your programs screen.Open file explore ,Go to your My Documents folder,tap on the hidelogo cab file with stylest and follow the promps.

Thanks...I thought I could download directly from the link on my Treo. The computer I sync with is at my office. I will do that in the morning.
This removes the Top Carrier bar and Lookup Bar from the today screen. The Lookup bar will still become visible when you start typing, then disappear when you move off it (Direction pad down.)
After installation you will need to refresh the today screen or soft reboot. This is a today plug-in, to turn it on/off just uncheck the hidelogo option from your today menu.
NOTE: It will only work if you have "Hide lookup field" checked (Today screen | Right Menu button | Preferences | Hide Lookup Field).
When Hidelogo software is active it hides the carrier plugin BT icon.
This Plugin is used to get BT notifacation also providing shortcut to BT setting on your today screen.
Drop cab. file into temp folder then go to windows folder scrolling down to bt icon and Tap.
Plugin is now displayed on today screen

Having the BT icon takes up another row of space!!!
Again, you would loose valuable space and the small 240 today screen. That is why you use phone alarm if you dont trust your BT is active.
