Thumbs up Pocket Controller Professional (highly recommended) view iPAQ on Desktop!

I highly recommend Pocket Controller Professional as well.

It was originally reviewed on this site last June but I thought I'd share my own posting for the 6515 specfically

You can view and control your pocket PC on your desktop. You can even share clipboard copy and past functions. (sync mp3 and podcast files too!)

This is great for when you have lots to setup, or want to have your iPAQ on your screen for quick access as an address book, take screen shots, record videos/macros etc. Check it out. They even have a 6500 skin! (see attached jpg that I captured myself!)

For those die hard freeware users, I know their is a similar freeware version. The Microsoft version is for viewing only. (havnt tried it, and it's also 2 years old) http://www.snapfiles.com/get/pocketp...tedisplay.html
Anyone know of any others?

Anyway....... check it out!

Thumbs up Built in sync works well for podcasts!

Pocket Controller is also MUCH better then mightysync for keeping files/folder in sync. It can also keep files sync'd as soon as you dock, and check every few minutes etc.

This is perfect for using i-Tunes to pull down Podcasts, and then have the mp3's transferred to your SD card automatically!

Ok, Ok, we get it, you're not happy with pocket PC Mac support
(saw your other mac posts)

but yeah...
I'd do a duel boot with max OS once it's out for Intel machines. I think they will make big waves if things go as well as they can in the near future! I'm willing to give it a try, but not until I can use it on my own machine. Their is no way I can give up XP/Vista completely though since most of my job deals with it on many levels. Bad pocket PC support and or loss of Office support would be a bad thing. If MAC really takes off I hope microsoft doesnt get nasty!

Although not quite as powerful as pocket controller pro, MS power toys has a nice small program called certdisp.exe that does let you control your PPC from your desktop.

It can be downloaded for free here:

How about giving the authors of good software there due and actually paying for it if you are going to use it.

Desi2003,

We do not condone or allow any illegal crack information onto this site. Please do not bother looking within this site for any such material as you will not find it.

The program I reviewed is a very high quality product, so I would heartily recommend that you open your wallet and pay for a legitimate license of the software.

If you find such postings in the future before a Moderator has had a chance to find it, you may click on the icon (triangle with an exclamation point) in the lower left-hand corner of each post in order to report that post if you think it breaks any rules of the forum.

I sincerely appreciate your good faith in this manner and heartily welcome you to our community.

Mashie - your apologies are not needed here - Elrendhel was grateful to you, as we all are, for pointing out that we should all pay our dues when needed. I couldn't agree more. Thank you. We hope you enjoy this site.

Regards,

Thanks S4czech. I am considering getting a cheap low end WIN XP machine that will do nothing other than make themes, and run a few XP based PPC apps I need to use. But I will see.

Pocket Controller was great when I had a WMPC device on a my XP laptop.

I liked the program so much I bought it but ever since I installed it I can no longer sync via active sync cradle (it may be a coincidence). Works fine with Lil'Sync cable. Any one else?

Did you accidentally unplug the AC power?

That happened to me last week, and it would not sync correctly in my cradle until I realized the AC power was unplugged by mistake.

I also found that using ActiveSync 4.0 “developers preview” is much more reliable as well.

I also read one report on here of a defective cradle.

I updated my post to point your way as well. I guess the only thing I wanted to stress was the very powerful file sync feature. (perfect for MP3 Podcast sync with I-Tunes)

Certainly not as full featured as Pocket Controller Pro, but I can confirm that it does work. The Microsoft version does allow Desktop control of 6515, (keyboard and mouse), and with standard desktop screen scraping software, stagnant or moving captures are easy.
