HP To Introduce Three New iPAQs


HP will soon be releasing their new iPAQ hx2000 series. Designed to offer optimal configurations of performance, enhanced security, connectivity and expandability, this new series will satisfy a variety of needs whether it is for business or just for yourself.

With this new series, you will be able to choose the model that best meets your individual needs.


Pick your processor:

Depending on your needs, you can get one of three processors (312 MHz, 520 MHz, or 624 MHz)


Memory

You will get up to 128 MB ROM and up to 128 MB RAM depending on the model you choose.

...Up to 185 MB user available memory

...Up to 80 MB iPAQ File Store

...Up to 105 MB application memory

hx2750 ... 256 MB total memory (128 MB ROM and 128 MB SDRAM) and up to 185 MB user available memory that includes 80 MB iPAQ File Store

hx2410 ... 128 MB total memory (64 MB ROM and 64 MB SDRAM) and up to 65 MB user available memory that includes 20 MB iPAQ File Store

hx2110 ... 128 MB total memory (64 MB ROM and 64 MB SDRAM) and up to 65 MB user available memory that includes 20 MB iPAQ File Store


Backups

As always, iPAQ Backup backs-up your applications and data. You will be able to set up automated backups based on time or battery charge.


Accessories

As with the other models that have been introduced, standard and extended batteries, styluses, cradles, AC chargers, etc., are common across all models


Enhanced Security Protection

A Biometric fingerprint reader will be on on the HP iPAQ hx2700. HP ProtectTools, secured by CREDANT Technologies,will allow you to secure your device. There is full VPN and WEP enhanced security included in the Microsoft OS and support for (Cisco) LEAP, 802.1X, and WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access).


Integrated Wi-Fi (802.11b)

The hx2400 and hx2700 series Pocket PCs will have integrated Wi-Fi.


Bluetooth

All units will have Integrated Bluetooth wireless technology


Integrated Serial IR

Communication between your iPAQ and other Serial IR enabled devices will enable you to move data wirelessly .


Easy To Carry

Small enough to fit in almost any pocket, soft rubberized side grips for a comfortable feel and slip free grip and a plastic flip cover helps protect the display from damage


What Comes With It

Microsoft Windows Mobile™ 2003 Second Edition software for Pocket PC which includes Pocket Outlook, Pocket Word, Pocket Excel, and Pocket Internet Explorer. HP Image Zone,Transcriber software, integrated microphone and speaker, HP Mobile Print Center (print your documents, email attachments and images directly to an HP printer), HP Mobile Printing ( This will allow you to print directly to a wide array of Bluetooth, infrared, and network printers) and Wireless printing with Bluetooth enabled printers (both integrated or with adapters) and to network printers or 802.11b enabled printers.


Removable/rechargeable battery

The 970 mAh or 1440 mAh lithium-lon battery is rechargeable and removable for easy replacement with extra batteries to keep you up and running. A 2880 mAh extended lithium-lon battery will be available as an optional accessory.

Integrated Compact Flash Type II (CF) and Secure Digital (SD) slots

Allowing for greater storeage and expansion capabilities, the CF Type II is there for greater expansion, flexibility and convenience.The Secure Digital slot allows you to expand your storage capacity with SD and MMC memory cards and it is SDIO ready.

4 programmable application quick-launch buttons, 5-way navigation button, rechargeable/removable battery, touch-sensitive display for stylus or fingertip, voice record button, microphone and speaker, and rubber sides for comfortable grip. The 2700 series has a Biometric fingerprint reader.

What comes in the box

Guide. The 2750 and 2410 come with a USB desktop synchronization cradle. The 2110 has a USB synchronization cable.

Not exactly. Like JickBahTech states there is not a VGA Ability (Hi-resolution) for this device. Also the software included with it is not nearly as good as the 4700 series. It will probably also not include a good of a graphics driver.

There's no VGA model in this line.

So have they just made the 4700 redundant ?
