Ahh ... Technology, How Sweet It Is!

I saw this keyboard sometime back and thought it was sweet. It was just a vision then but it looks as if it will become reality so I thought it would be nice to pass a little "computer envy" your way. Can you imagine, a keyboard that everykey is a stand-alone display showing exactly what it is controlling at this very moment.

Think about the possibilities. You decide to play a game and the keys change to enhace your gaming experience or you run an application like Photoshop and all the user controls appear for you to seamlessly create your artwork. Pretty cool!

The possibilities are endless in deciding how this keyboard will be used. I would expect that if it makes it, it will change the way we interface with computers forever. Imagination is the only thing that can limit this device....

When will it be available? Maybe next year...only time, patents and all the other legalise will tell. You can visit the Optimus site here.

........and by the way,

STOP drooling!

Awesome. Probably won't be affordable for me but definately cool.
I read somewhere that it will come with a SDK, which will allow you to create your own templates for programs/games etc. I assume that these creations could then be shared etc.
Other then that, it does look very very nice!
I think it's a great idea, too. It makes so much sense.
They should give you the ability to create your own templates for each software application as a separate file AND include some standard templates; Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc. That way you could trade them, give them away and post them on your web site for the benefit of everyone.
I have trouble just with CAPS LOCK, my son pointed this keyboard out to me as it would be great for some of his games
This would be great. Its tough to remember all of the different key strokes/commands with todays apps.
