The JASJAR runs the latest Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC Phone Edition Operating System, and is an ideal mobile device for email, Internet browsing and getting access to corporate LAN resources. Capable of Tri-band GSM/GPRS worldwide, it also features in-built Bluetooth and WiFi for inter-device connectivity.
The device can be folded out to give access to the keyboard, or folded back for touchscreen-only use. A 1.3 megapixel camera is included, which can take both still pictures and video clips.
You can order it NOW and the unit is UNLOCKED.

I received my unit from eXpansys yesterday. No problems. They even thru in a free charger for my JasJar. Would definately order from again. Thanks for the tip Dave.

I received an email from eXpansys that my JasJar shipped today. Unfortunately they didn't provide a tracking number so I'm not sure when it's supposed to arrive. I asked them to ship via UPS Next Day, but have not received a tracking number. My experience with eXpansys is very positive at this point.

Well in case anyone is reading this, here's the latest update on my experience with eXpansys. The long and the short is: Yes the units are in stock, but will not be shipped from the UK directly. Rather, eXpansys (UK) will ship the units to their US warehouse and the orders will be fulfilled from there. Here's the email they sent me:
Today (Sept 8) a shipment of the JASJAR Pocket PCs is leaving our UK Warehouse and is expected to arrive in our US Warehouse early next week. As soon as this shipment arrives we will be begin processing these orders.
Regards

Well, the shipping shifted again. eXpansys is stating 704 are in stock (I'm sorry 703 now ;-)). To be fair to Dave and his partner store, I will report back on my experience with eXpansys.

Looks like eXpansys ETA is wrong yet again.... Now shipping in 10 days....(Sept 15). I wonder how many more times it'll slip. I'm with dmc874 (although I have never personally purchased from eXpansys), I'm going to wait to have another vendor offer the unit. I've HEARD (not experienced) plenty of horror stories in people dealing with eXpansys. Buyer beware.

Yeah this is geared to the uk 3g service as far as i know, we dont have edge.
|
|
Everything I have heard is it doesn't support EDGE. And the UMTS isn't the supported spectrum in the US. So you can only get regular GPRS on this model.

This does not have EDGE - correct ?

The reason I ask if its only available in the UK, is because it you go to their US site they don't list this one. Only the QteK one thats not black. I don't have an expereince with them, so I'm not sure if they will ship to the US, when its only on their UK site.

I saw on Expansys that the unit has UMITS. What is that? Is it comparable to Edge or am I completely off?

I have 100 percent confidence. Look at all the happy h6515 owners that got their unlocked units on time.

I know they are your partner store and all, but I would be real leary of any dates eXpansys gives. I have had nothing but bad luck with them.
