First Shots Dubai Gitix shows Imate KJam

Member p25o1 was at the popular Dubai Gitix show and was able to snap up some shots of the most popular Windows Mobile 5 devices including the KJam announced today. He also was able to ask some questions to HP in which he shared his responses.

65xx was released in UAE Dubai,
- With Arabic support
- With sd 128mb
- With mini-sd wifi
The offer is 3000dhs

He spoke to a HP 65xx product guy (technical / marketing) and asked him some questions

Which gps software did you release 65xx with and does it have uae map on it?
Hp: we released it with mobile navigator and uae maps are available.

When will the 67xx be released?
Hp: what 67xx
Me- the one that was leaked on the net
Hp- (funny smile) never saw it.

Will 65xx support wm5?
Hp: No and it's official, the 2xxx and 4xxx will support it. Others like 63xx and 65xx will not support it.

Why?
Hp: the 64mb memory size is the main issue, running applications on the devices starts to cause issues to the users. (The way he explained it was applications will running out of space)

with regards to the 64mb of ROM, people better hope that the the Treo 700w has 128mb! the only mention of memory has been the 64mb which we all assumes is a RAM number.

In addtion the only 2000 series device that has 128mb of ROM is the 2750, but yet the upgrade is being offered also for the 2400 series also. If indeed the 64mb rom was an issue as far as storage is concerned, you would think HP would have made better use of the "Extended ROM" area which could be used to offset some of the storage taken up by some of the OEM installed apps on the 6500.

What 6700? LOL!
See I knew the 65xx didn't have WM5 because of the 64mb of memory. And since HP is not selling the 128mb upgrade then they will not have WM5 on this unit. But finally confirmation! lol
