XV6700BB Verizon Pocket PC Phone

We talked about this in yesterdays podcast and apparently one of our members delivered actual photos of the soon to be announced Verizon XV6700BB? We cant confirm the model numbers as of yet but this does jive with the information on the fcc site we spoke about yesterday.

where did you get the phone (2 of them, that's insane!)
I am dying for this phone but i don't want to switch to sprint. when do you think verzion will start selling it?
I just picked up this phone and its truly amazing. In fact, my company gave me two of them. I'd like to part with the extra phone but most people dont know about the Verizon xv6700. I never would have thought it would be hard to sell this phone considering how advanced it is.
i have a sprint ppc-6700, i can confirm that when using wifi i can still recieve calls. I actually talk on the speaker phone and still browse and chat on msn (via wifi)
The back of the battery for the PPC-6700 states that the battery is for the PPC-6700 and the XV6700, so I take it that the Verizon name for their version will be the XV6700.
No, as I stated before I received the PPC-6700 which is from Sprint. I am working on the Verizon version. Also, the EVDO via DUN on Sprint works great! I am using it to post from my laptop now! Awesome speeds wherever I am at.
Physboy you received this unit from Verizon?
I didn't figure that Sprint wouldn't cripple the 6700 like that. Methinks Verizon is evil! :(

Well the PPC-6700 just came in! I can definitely say that there is no issue with the WiFi turning off the phone radio.

I will be starting a thread tonigh for questions and answers, plus some pics.
Heh, someone is reporting over at PPCTs that this device does the same as the Samsung i730 - when you turn on wifi the phone portion of the device is turned off!

Sheesh! I hate Verizon for these reasons (ie. crippling bluetooth, wifi, etc).
I will be making a thread so that your questions can be answered. What problem are you currently referring to with EVDO service??
Dave
Physboy is to be receiving the Sprint version of this unit for a 14 day evalution. I'm very curious as to his findings and function of the Sprint EVDO and if he'll have the same apparent issues! Do you think the conflict is the network again? I guess time will tell! I'm curious what their Tech Dept would say about the
"problem"?

Yes it is but this has the Verizon EVDO from what I have seen on FCC site. Unfortunately it looks wifi and phone are a no-no again.
Isn't this just the "Black" version of the HTC Apache! Sprint is offering the "PPC-6700" on their "Business" site which has a grey/silver
faceplate. The reviews i've read have been very positive, only forsaking the apparent lack of punch from the 1350mah battery.
Reviewer had previously reviewed the HTC Universal, with the 520 Mhz processor and stated
that Sprint's unit with the 416 Mhz processor seemed to be as fast or faster depending on
the applications he was running!
Overall, seems to be a nice unit???
