Walmart charging $400 for shipping the XBox 360!

My quest for an Xbox continues as I get totally frustrated. I just went to Walmart.com to see if they for some reason had the XBOX 360 available for order.. To my suprise they did!!!! The CORE system for $299.92!! WOW... What a deal.. I immediately added it to my shopping cart! Once I added it I called up to Walmart to see if this was true.. While I was on hold I looked at my shopping cart to find out my $299.92 system turned into a $699.92 dollar system!!! As I looked closer I noticed a $400 shipping charge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What the heck is going on? From my conversation with Walmart there is a glitch on the website causing this problem and they will cancel EVERY XBOX order that is placed previous to Nov 22, 2005. ARGHHH!!!! What is going on?

What kills me is Microsoft admits they have a shortage of these units. So, what happens? Everyone freaks out and panics that they won't get on. Order one here, order one there, order one everywhere! Look on eBay...$400, $500, $600 for these systems. Relax, breathe. If you MUST have it now, expect to pay up the wazoo and get frustrated when it's sold out, or doesn't ship (Microsoft said there was a shortage, so this isn't a surprise now, is it?)
I am having a similar problem with GameStop, where I placed my reserve order back in August. I am told that they only expect to receive 28 units per shipment, and the manager I spoke to has formed the opinion that it is a cost-cutting effort on behalf of Microsoft (since they lose about $80 per unit apparently). Keeping the initial shipments low will (maybe) allow them to spread their debt out over a longer period. Pretty weak reasoning, but I have nothing better to offer.

Anyways, because of where sit on the reservation system, I should receive mine on the third shipment, which is not expected to arrive unti AFTER Christmas and the NEW YEAR!!!!
It's some rootkit that Sony (maker of the competing Playstation) has installed on all eCommerce servers. When Xbox is displayed, this Sony rootkit alters availability, cost & shipping.

Yeah they tell me they have NO units. They are trying to fix the problem
Walmart should be able to fix the issue without charging the freight or simply credit the affected orders. They should not cancel the orders and force those users to wait if they were the first to purchase.

Just anothe reason I don't shop @ Walmart.
So much hype and issues trying to order a game system that according to some of the reviews I have read is not all that. I can't wait until you get one Dave so you can let us all know if it is worht it.
laura They are tools not toys!!!!!!
Boys and their toys ??????????????????
they should honor you the 299.99, big companies always they honor there mostakes.

it happen to me i was shopping for BMW X5 2005 , on line dealer listed a 61K car for 41k, and yes the honor the 41k.
