Synaptics Onyx concept phone..


I really liked this story so I figured I would post the original time we posted it.. I know it is a repost but we had received the headsup about this phone by Vincent over at Slashgear.

The folks over at SlashGear had some face time with this innovative but (buggy) phone and was lucky enough to video some of the capabilities. What concerns me is the amout of times they were forced to cut the scene due to possible freeze-ups...

At the moment it's a Flash interface running on top of WinCE. They're switching to a different Flash engine, though, so it'll be far quicker in operation. Eventually they envisage a 3.5"-3" screen; the prototype has a bigger one for demo purposes.
Most of the cuts were due to time and to edit out details we sadly aren't allowed to share yet. It can be slow but is actually pretty stable.
Wow.. nice.. I want one.. :-D I think Dave should get all of use a release version for Christmas, ;-)
I want one that's all black so I can feel like I have my own personal Monolith from 2001 a Space Oddessy. :)

OS = Maybe some form of Linux?
Interesting to say the least. I wonder what OS that is. The only thing that seems to bug me on this one is the LARGE candy bar design.
