Users of the brilliant 4smartphone service for server based exchange email will be pleased to know that they will be upgrading their servers to the latest Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 in quarter two this year.
Quote from the email I have just received “We are currently testing Exchange 2007 and we are planning on deploying it during the second quarter of this year.”
What’s the big deal you might ask, well as we have just seen the announcement of Windows Mobile 6, to get a lot of the new outlook and server based features to work correctly you have to have your outlook synching with exchange 2007.
Additional features that will work with Exchange Server 2007
HTML Email rich emails with images, tables, formats and much more.
Set Out of Office messages on your exchange server using the phone.
Exchange e-mail search you can search your emails stored on the server from your device and download them
Flag e-mail messages and sync that with the server
I for one will be hoping that Palm doesn’t wait forever to get a Windows Mobile 6 upgrade out for the Treo 750v as some of these features are what I have been waiting for and if its too long I will be itching to splash some cash on a device that has it.
