Anyone know if Cingular/AT&T is going to carry either one of these phones? If so I might hold off on my upgrade. I was going to get a Motorola V9, but I like the idea of a 3G iPAQ.

*Sigh*
Still no one steps up to a high res screen...

I have got large hands, so the 69xx felt great in my hands for me since a lot of the smaller phones of this form factor were actually too small (Treo, Blackjack, etc.) and awkward for me. From looking at the photos, it seems as though the jog wheel appears to be on the right. That is going to take some time to get used to, I have never had a phone (basic or PDA) where there were buttons on the right side of the device.
I would like to see HP customize this device, too. but agree they probably won't touch it as I think they are still in the "simple is best for business" frame of mind. Although the iPAQ had some very basic things that my last HTC did not which I use often like profiles, audio equalizer, and quick, easy access to the battery/mem monitors and a few other things. That may have changed in the new devices since I haven't really played around with anything else besides the branded 8525, but that one didn't really impress me either except for the mediocre camera and the 3G.

I also like the fact that the dimensions of the OKWAP seem to be smaller than the 6900. That's good because I never liked the way the 6900 felt in my hands.
I hope that HP goes the extra mile to customize the WM6 interface in some way. This seems to be the trend now. My gut tells me that HP won't bother, but I could be wrong.

I am happy to see a new iPAQ qwerty, and am anxious to find out if there is finally a device out there I may consider replacing the 69xx with. Time will tell. I hope the spec are close to what you linked, would be pretty cool!

If I were a betting man, I would have to say at least 400mhz and 128mb of Ram. Since the 914 is based on the OKWAP K871, you may want to check out the specs on that to get an idea.

I would like to see some specs of the devices before I start to get excited (if at all). The camera at 3 mp and 3G are nice, but that is all I see interesting so far. Any idea of the horsepower under the hood?

Looks like the 914 is based off the Asus Aries series. I wonder if Asus is providing them for HP.

One thing I have learned from personal experience is that HP treats customers better and more responsive if they have the extended service plans. Doesn't make it right but that's the way it was, at least when I owned an Ipaq.

whatever said and done, HP Service sucks and I wouldn't touch these devices with a 10 feet iphone!

The 914 does look similar to the Asus M530w. But, the Asus doesn't have a 3MP camera or GPS. So the devices may share the same aesthetics, but not the same electronics.

I like the 914 as well. Finally, an HP with 3G!

they look similar to Asus offerings. I wonder if they manufacture them for HP.
