iPhone 1.1.3 firmware feature gallery

The folks over at Gear Live got a look at the new iPhone firmware version 1.1.3. They say that it has quite a few surprises including:

  • The ability to send an SMS message to multiple people is now there
  • Google Maps application can now pinpoint your location using cell tower triangulation
  • Google Maps can now display the Hybrid map view
  • You can now drag and drop application icons on your home screen
  • The home screen supports pagination
  • You can now add web bookmarks to your home screen

They also mentioned that if you used AnySIM to unlock your phone, you can expect the 1.1.3 update to brick it. You can take a look at the Gear Live iPhone Firmware 1.1.3 Gallery for a photo tour of the new stuff.

If they hype it right then they will be able to get away with it.

They are the masters of hype after all. :)
Yep, it would be crappy if Apple would enable a2dp and third party apps only through a new purchase. However, I sincerely doubt that both of those items will NOT be provided via software updates to existing owners. It would almost be tech-suicide if they didn't.

Looking forward to seeing 3G, more storage, perhaps a even slimmer form factor of future devices.
Jerry, I agree since they are supposed to be giving that capacity out by Feb. of '08. I also agree with Dave, 3G waaaay overdue on their part, but I do not believe it can be done via software. Another thing overdue is AD2P.

How crappy would it be if Apple made folks buy another device to get 3rd party apps and AD2P? I hope they do not do that, but currently I am not convinced that they won't.
Definitely! Iphone needs more though.. 3G!!!
Bullets 4 and 5 sounds like Apple's getting ready for the 3rd party applications!
