Did you guys see the comparison shot with the BJII? Amazing that X1 is narrower than the BJII.
Dimensions:
110 x 53 x 16.7 mm
145 grams

I like the interface, but the buginess is a big concern. I do agree that it is probably not the best marketing move to show off a device while it is failing at the task of being stable and fast.
I am hoping that SE takes a different approach to the carrier relationship, so that they can effectively support the core components of the device without carrier interference. Basically, it would be great if none of the carrier software was in the ROM, so that only the core OS software was in there. This would allow two major consumer benefits to occur:
1.) Quicker turn around for OS updates feature software updates from SE etc..
2.) The ability of the consumer to just uninstall the carrier software if they do not want it. I know alot of people who do not have a my Faves plan and do not want the software on their device, why should we have to be forced to reflash the rom and do the skip crapimization process when we do not want a software package that is installed?
I am also concerned that the statement "...has quality solid feel to it..." might be marketing language for waaaaay heavy.

I really dont see lust Jerry other than MVP sites really?
|

That's because the X1 presents such a radical departure in terms of interface and technical specifications from what is available today. It has already generated a sort of "lust" amongst some of WM faithful.

I can see both sides of this. Yes i believe this is a device that is not released yet and will be improved upon as its not a good experience at the moment, however I don't understand why you would want your potential customers to see the device this way, surely thats not good marketing.

Another anti-WM post. I'm shocked.

Until WM7, we all going to have to understand it will be up to the OEM's to customize and innovate the way users interact with WM. I applaud SE for their efforts and I firmly believe they will get the X1 to operating speed before the product comes to market. I have more confidence in SE than I do with HTC.

Never say never, it sets people up to look foolish or miss something great. But I get your drift. I can't see myself going back either

That's why I'm never buying a winmo device again!!! Every single device on this OS is sluggish I can't wait for a 3G/GPS iPhone.

Xperia+Windows Mobile=fail
but the fish are cool.
WM has and always will have the POTENTIAL to be great, but until Microsoft hires a UI team that considers usability, looks, and ease of use. They will always have potential and nothing else. Not to mention they will usually make you buy a new phone to get an update...LAME!
I know WM will come along, but give me a break, we have expected them to take that next huge leap 2-3 years ago

Hey would you ever see Apple showing off a quirky iPhone in public when you know it cant do certain things? Comon give me a break when has it become good for a company to show off a product that hasnt been developed fully yet?
Chaznet yes I am negative about certain WM things and this being one. This is the most exciting device for WM! That being said it just doesn't look good if its quirky!

Give up JN -- David's just a negative guy, no matter what you post -- he'll claim the opposite -- it's how he communicates ;)

I definitely like the concept of the panels. It is a little slow, but I would reserve judgement until they have a production model for review.

Ill bet a brand new Xperia its going to be laggy!!

WMExperts is reporting that the device is quite quick using wm6.1 but the panel interface is still beta.

Jerry goto Youtube.. This is more than a pre pro issue!! This is showing how SLOW WinMO is!! And this is a powerhouse device!!!!
|
|
Dave this is no big deal. PreproductIon units aren't in the hands of reviewers yet. I am sure that SE will correct the issues before this goes to market.
