@EricN80

I have a friend that is a manager in AT&T's mobile division and he is wondering whether or not any of his discounts for service can be applied against the iPhone. So my guess is that it is much too soon to say whether or not you 15% discount can be applied.

I don't mind physical keys as it just brings me back to my HP 95LX days, but it would also have to be a touch screen device. Any candy bar design needs to be all touch screen for me. I had a Dash but the interface w/o a touch screen is didn't cut it and these little screens are just worth less to me on a smartphone, so it only got used for making calls while all my work got done on the hx4700. I switched to an iPhone because my hx was stolen and there was no comparable smartphone to the hx. Now I'm waiting to see how the X1 pans out as I find it more comparable to the Nokia Communicator series than the iPhone.
As far as the Diamond is concerned I will never purchase an HTC product so thanks but it's not even an option for me.
Hello.

Regarding the iPhone 3g, does anyone know if AT&T Wireless is going to require the 4.99$ SMS package? I can get 12% off from work but when I asked the corp. rep if I could use that against the new iPhone he said "that has not been communicated yet" bla bla bla.

The i900 looks pretty interesting. I've seen some strange giant phones like that on visits to China.

Wyatt,

If you don't mind a hardware keyboard then the Diamond Pro or the X1 may be the device for you since you are used to the VGA resolution and all.

I would also tend to agree that the WM fans are just as rhetorical. Fortunately, I am a consumer fan. As I stated before, these new entries are great for everyone. (Regular Diamond excluded)
Hey Dave, I spotted the HTC Diamond in J&R Music World here in NYC yesterday.
Still tri-band, guess there's going to be a lot a dissappointed people over here.

Well Physboy, I guess iPhans are no different than WM Fans. Both of which I'm personally tired of. If a WM device comes out that would replace what I had with my hx4700 plus phone then I'm on it.
Chris, naturally there is a component of the user experience that is user dependant. E.g. (Some people like the sliding process to get to the WiFi and turn it on and off on the iPhone. I do not, I would much rather use a shortcut to get to the WiFi on/off software in one step from the Today screen.)

The bottom line is that I need a device to be quick and stable, "I don't give a monkey" about the graphics on the way to achieving that task. I do not want to have to spend more of my life in front of a mobile device than necessary. There is just way too much to do in this lifetime than spend the majority of it in front of technology. For me the purpose of technology is so that I can spend less time completing a given task. Using fancy graphics only serves to spend more of my time with the technology which means more time to complete a given task.

Granted some technology is for entertainment purposes and that is fine when I do not have tasks that need to be completed. I would rather get done with my tasks and then focus on the entertainment items.

The Omnia i900 appears to be fast and stable, and it is definitely feature packed waaaaaaaay above any iPhone or HTC offering at this point. The Diamond Pro while not as feature packed, is also hardware intensive and will serve to provide a similar fast and stable experience, which is the main experience I am interested in.
Phys, I really hope you are right, believe me when I say I am not an iPhan, if Windows Mobile can give me a comparible experience to the iPhone UI then I will change back without a moments hesitation, I just don't believe its possible with Windows Mobile 6.1, maybe with 7 but who knows
I have seen numerous videos of the Omnia i900 now and this thing is the same or faster than the iPhone. No doubt, of course the iPhans are not going to be happy about it and spew out rhetorical flim flam instead of giving credit where credit is due.

It looks to me as though Samsung hit the nail on the head with this phone. 5 MP camera w/ flash and bigger apeture than standard devices. 8 to 16 GB of storage space onboard plus an external micro SDHC slot for even more storage capacity. there is an FM Radio, and yes it is QUAD BAND for use in the US as well. GPS, and all powered by a 1440 mAh battery. It also has the mouse that Chris loves in the i780.

Don't be afraid iPhans, it is good for everyone that the hardware and software solutions around the table are improving. This latest offering from Samsung is proof positive of that.
