iCall for the iPhone, VoIP coming soon officially

One of the most anticipated applications for the iPhone is a Vo-IP application which would allow us to make calls using WiFi. Well the good news is iCall for the iPhone is coming and it will be available officially from the iTunes App Store. Not only will you be able to make calls over WiFi but also seamlessly transfer a mobile call over to VoiP which could save you a lot of minutes each month. It's already working and you can check out the video below:-

  1. Make and receive calls over WiFi
  2. Transfer inbound calls from a regular cell call to WiFi instantly and seamlessly - save your expensive minutes
  3. Access your same address book
  4. Customize your voicemail options

If it's over WiFi then would it be subject to AT&T's restrictions? The AT&T TOS are at http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-phone-service/legal/plan-terms.jsp. Search for "but not limited to, Web camera posts or broadcasts". That's the most relevant thing I see.
I've been playing phone tag with them about an interview. I will try again on Monday.
Cool, if they can pull it off. I have to wonder if there's a paragraph or two in the AT&T TOS about using P2P and VOIP applications over their 3G network.

Wow, if this gets off the ground like I'm sure it will, it's going to make these guys rich and make AT&T and all the other companies reassess their minutes plans.
