Review: HTC Touch Diamond

Our good friend/moderator/cohost and owner of Mobile Tech Addicts has done a stellar job of reviewing the HTC Touch Diamond. Not only did Chris give us one of the most thorough reviews of the Diamond he has even given us some great tips on how to speed up the Diamond's Touch Flo user interface.

I encourage you to read Chris's full review over at Mobile Tech Addicts

Thanks for all the positive comments, it is really appreciated
Chris this is a great read. Although it is no iPhone it could be a great device if they fixed a few things.
Amazing review Chris, well done!
Not even the gorgeous screen and small size entices me enough to even consider giving up my Cruise at this time.

Nice review Chris. :)
Dieter Bohn also did an excellent detailed video review using a phone with the updated firmware at WMExperts:

I always take Dieter's HTC reviews with a bit of salt: he's definitely an HTC fanboy and sometimes gets a little high on the HTC publicity and rumor train. However, on the whole I think this is a fairly balanced review, on a par with the Mobile Tech Addicts written review.

I think we're getting a clear picture of the Diamond, still a bit laggy even with the new firmware and tweaks, with a less than polished UI. The lag is more apparent with non-TF screen intensive applications. Even so, the Diamond is definitely an advance over the first generation of TF devices; a device for HTC fandom, probably not so much for the increasing smartphone desiring general public.

And by the way, could HTC have launched this device any worse!

HTC: give us a Diamond version with all the Diamond firmware tweaks to date plus all the features and ergonomics of the Pro minus the keyboard and gimmicky faceted battery cover, add the Xperia's screen, and a 2.5mm stereo jack, and make it quad-band for kicks. We known you have all the parts in-house; so what's stoping you?!
