7 iPhone 3G's and now I get green photos?

Is this acceptable? What are my rights after 7 iPhones...

Someone better wake up Apple and find out what is going on in Cupertino.. Today I went to my Apple Store to exchange my 3rd iPhone since mine was powering on by itself. So during my meeting with the Genius Bar it was determined that the unit was defective again and they would swap it out with a refurb. Well when we opened the first one it had huge speckles that were sharp on the back of the phone. Almost as if dirt was on the phone and it was painted over. So the genius (funny term) then went back and got another one and what do you know? Yup.. Defective paint. At this time he told me if I get another one with bad paint to just take it and come back a month later and swap it again. Well.. you guessed it there was a dent in the paint and I was forced to take it with me. By the way this made my total count 7 iPhones swapped in my name.

Tonight I was using my iPhone and decided to take a photo of my kids. All of a sudden I noticed the camera view was all green!!! Yes I said green!!! How in the world can a refurbished iPhone 3G come back from Apple and have a defective camera. Take a look at the photo below which is an exact picture I took with this iPhone 3G.

Wow my iPhone camera is majorly screwed up. Look at this garb... on TwitPic

So my question is how is this acceptable Apple? Between your security flaws and the lack of quality control you are basically telling me go fly a kite we don't care. So tomorrow morning i'll be making my trip back up to the Genius Bar for my 8th iPhone!

What I think is interesting is that refurbs are already available! That didn't take long. I wonder just how long after release they were being issued. Yikes!
Quite a contrast to the way the Diamond was vilified just for being slow, a flaw that appears to have been fixed in the latest roms. Yet here we are with what amounts to 7 faulty iphones yet we are not seeing the same anti Diamond/WM crusade that was embarked on after the Diamond review.

I think that really says a lot about how much leeway apple is being given by tech sites while at the same time an apparent long held but hidden hatred of MS and WM is being openly expressed.

Wow!
@agent680... LOL. Too funny.

@David Ciccone... I feel for you. I think I would have lost my ever loving mind if I had 8 iPhone returns. I also think that at the least Apple should acknowledge the challenges with it's products... even it is just "We know about it and are working on it." That would have made me feel in the loop, rather than not talking about it on their forums and/or deleting posts from their forums.
Dave I don't know if your unit is broken. I think you stumbled on the hidden night vision feature.
I dont blame you. Remember my last letter to Steve about my MacBook Pro! Well this to me is even worse..
At this point I wonder if there is any leverage with lemon laws or something like that (I know that's usually for a single product returned with multiple problems, but still).
I'm sure if you kick up enough of a stink here you might just get one of those elusive Steve Jobs' "I acknowledge YOU have a problem" emails.

Between stuff like this, and all the problems my friends are having with first gen iPhones and iPhone 2.0 software (so far ALL of my friends that have done the update), I guess I'll stick with Sprint and wait out the Touch Pro...
