As we wait patiently for native apps for the Palm Pre, MotionApps' Classic emulator remains the best way to get access to thousands of apps onto Palm's groundbreaking smartphone.
The day it came out, I started a compatibility list to let the Pre community see which of the tens of thousands of old Palm OS apps would run on their new phones.
MotionApps officially grabbed the compatibility torch Friday with the launch of Classic Well, a community-driven Web site that tracks Classic app compatibility. Classic Well is more flexible and searchable than our Appscout list, but it really needs content. So, go add some. MotionApps' Voja Lalich says that they're going to further enhance Classic Well with more searchability in the future, too.
MotionApps is also running a "Classic Certified" program for apps that are guaranteed to work on the emulator. Prominent Classic Certified apps include Agendus, HanDBase, and MetrO.
