HTC Touch HD Spy Photos

Paul from Modaco has just posted about a new HTC device called the Touch HD. It appears to be a large screen (3.2"?) device with 480x800 WVGA resolution and no keyboard.

From the specs posted, it has:
  • Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional
  • Qualcomm 7201A processor @ 528MHz
  • 512MB ROM / 256MB RAM (+32MB on processor)
[EDIT]Additional specs posted!
  • 115mm x 62.8mm x 12mm
  • GPS / HSDPA etc. etc.
  • 5 Megapixel camera (no flash)
  • No Dpad or scroll wheel, does have a stylus
  • microSD
  • 1350mAH battery
  • 3.5mm headset jack on the top!
[/EDIT]

They are predicting a December launch for this device. Hopefully HTC won't forget its US customers when including radios in the device. This could be a very big hit for them.

Postscript -

I just checked the newly posted specs on PDAdb.net and they do show the "Blackstone" having "802.11b, 802.11g". So either PDAdb.net can't believe the Blackstone wouldn't come with WiFi either, or HTC is serving up its first phone designed from the ground up to compete with the iPhone. The December launch, if HTC can pull it off, fits into that strategy.

Maybe that shark remains un-jumped!
Looks like I "jumped the shark" here.

What's missing? WiFi.

Without WiFi, I can't do 90% of the things I do with a smartphone excluding using it as a phone.
HTC just keeps producing one phone after the other...and they keep getting better and better. I am especially keen on the way the keep refining their UIs and showing that Windows Mobile is not just Windows on a small device, but an OS that allows user friendly applications to run on top of it.

Some more details:

Size: 115 x 62.8 x 12-mm (almost the same size as the iPhone 3G)
GPS, HSDPA data, a 5 megapixel camera (no flash), stylus, microSD slot, 3.5-mm headphone jack, and 1350mAH battery
Look's like the "official" Xperia North American release has been pushed well into 2009.

So the Touch HD is my new got to have it, I really want it, when's it coming out, dream machine. HTC - you finally got the message on the headset jack! I'm in heaven!
20 months Jerry. lol
how many more months after the initial release will we have to wait for a fully compliant US version ?
Maybe Dave's tweet about the recycled Opal yesterday caused this? Actually this device was on Crackberry for a couple days and went unnoticed.
Looks nice, accidental leak (ahem) just when the Xperia launch has been announced too
Posted some additional specs. I need this device.
Wow. NOW THAT'S MY KIND OF DEVICE!
Now thats a big screen
