Blackjack Extended Battery

A good friend of Mobility Today along with being an editor over at TUAW (my favorate Apple site) sent me in this fantastic set of photos he took of the extended battery for the Blackjack..This is definitely on my list of items for my Blackjack.

Samsung BlackJack extended battery and door

Quote:

"The most surprising thing to me is the new battery door which, as you might guess, is on the right. It’s actually a pretty clever design, considering the extended 1800 mAh battery is obviously fatter than the shipping 1200 mAh model. It adds a little bit of depth to the phone, but since the BlackJack is so darn slim to begin with, I really don’t mind.

Now before you ask: no, I haven’t put the battery through any real tests to see how it performs. It literally just showed up a couple hours ago, and I ship out early Wednesday morning for the holidays, so I wanted to get this up before I took off. I’ll post in a couple days with thoughts on performance during real world usage, but until then, feel free to ask any questions you’d like. I’m even down for taking some more pictures if you’d like them. Also: I now have a standard battery to sell; I really don’t think I need three of them for this phone"

I made the little change to my Blackjack to make it stay only on the GMS/GPRS/EDGE network and the battery life has been awesome. I have used this phone all day. At least 1.5 hours of calls, 20 or so emails, constant text messaging, and about 1 hour total of web browsing. The battery is still at just below the halfway point.

I would already be well into the second battery using my 6915 but the Blackjack is still going strong.

You know what I like about it, the battery cover is part of the entire back of the phone. The one thing I don't like about the Q's extended battery is how it makes a hump on the back. This just makes it look like it's "supposed" to be there, rather than an add on...
