Men who use mobile phones face increased risk of infertility

Men who use mobile phones could be risking their fertility, warn researchers. A new study shows a worrying link between poor sperm and the number of hours a day that a man uses his mobile phone.

Those who made calls on a mobile phone for more than four hours a day had the worst sperm counts and the poorest quality sperm, according to results released yest at the American Society for Reproductive Medicine annual meeting in New Orleans.

Doctors believe the damage could be caused by the electromagnetic radiation emitted by handsets or the heat they generate.

The findings suggest millions of men may encounter difficulties in fathering a child due to the widespread use of mobile phones and offers another possible explanation for plummeting fertility levels among British males.

Great, just one more reason for a man not to call when he says he will. LOL! ;)
My two teenage boys and most of their friends store their phones in either their front or back pocket, antenna pointing down, which means it’s about 3-6 inches from the family jewels. Many people don’t understand that even if you aren’t talking on the phone, it occasionally transmits to sync up with the closest cell tower, and also transmits as it is ringing for an inbound call or text.

Cell phones work very close to Microwave frequencies. Although at much lower power than Microwave ovens, with long term exposure you’re essentially roasting nuts. The cell phone signals transmit through wood, steel, and concrete home and office buildings. You can be assured they will zap right through a little skin and bone, and slowly “cook” everything close by. And yes, for everyone paying attention, this even includes your brain as you hold the phone close to your ear, unless your skull is thick lead plated.

No one believes they will be impacted because “…it won’t happen to me”.

Suggestions? Put your phone in your backpack, or at minimum a belt holster. Use a hands-free corded headset while talking, and keep your phone away from your body – any part of your body.

Next chapter: Bluetooth headsets transmit at 2.4 GHz, let’s fry our brains…

I don’t want to be too negative – you only live once, so you want to enjoy your ride on this planet. But do play it safe along the way, and respect your fellow passengers. Together, we can all have a great life. :)
No worries here, I am done having kids
I just have one thing to say, get your phone out of your pants!!!!
I say we solve a lot of troubles in the world by passing out Cell phones with unlimited plans to High School boys and then make SURE they talk on the phone for 4 hours every day!. ;)
lol..Laura that's funny...

Buzz ya know you're right.
Thank god this only effects British Males! Or that is at least what the story says in the end!
I think it's most probably that the men spend so much time on the phone that they don't have enough time for anything else ???
Well I can say I have been using a cellphone for 22 years and have had two children with a third on the way...
I Disagree with the study. The results have been disproven many time in the past as this one will be in the future
