Handango illegally using Dave's iPAQ name..

An open Letter to Randy Eisenman CEO Handango

Back in Novemeber 2005 I placed a request to have your company place my new Mobility Today logo on my software store. As you are aware, I was the first affiliate branded store that your company designed back in the day that Laura Rippy was the CEO. Unfortunately your customer service representative told me it would take 8 weeks to do. On November 10, 2005, I informed you in writing that I would be parting ways and that I would like my store to be taken down and my affiliate commission be paid.

After 14 emails, 6 calls over a period of 11 months I finally received your call on Thursday August 30, 2006 in which I informed you of the illegal use of my name and my logo. At this time you informed me you would have them take it down immediately on Friday. As of today, I am informing you that you are still using my name, my logo, my website without my permission along with NEVER PAYING ME FOR OVER 1 YEAR.

I would like to make it clear that this store is in no way affiliated with me! They are using my name without permission. What you are doing is completely ILLEGAL and I will protect my name.

I will be waiting for your response Mr Eisenman!

I thought the download protection was for knuckleheads who can't keep track of their downloads. I learned last night that it means I can't update the app I bought last week that contains a fix I need. This is outrageous and all my future purchases will go to PocketGear or direct to developers.

Perhaps my case is different because I'm a tech but why do ESD's exist in the "Google era"?Normally I find out about an app from a review or blog, then I go to the developer's site to learn about it and then they send me over to the ESD's to purchase.
Gee, Dave, I'm sorry you're having a problem building a relationship with Handango. However, when I log on to your store and compare it with Handango...well...in case you haven't noticed, there seems to be something of a significant difference in the availability of software. I hate to say this, but I smell sour grapes...
RHoppas it was also disappointing to me!
I find this really upsetting. I have purchased alot of software from these guys over the last couple years. I will look elsewhere from now on...
I was starting think that it's all a scam. I signed up as an affiliate and have requested numerous emails regarding affiliate reports and have not received a single email reply from them. I have since removed the bulk of my affiliate links but there's still a lot of them. What a bunch of scammers if they promote the affiliate relationship but don't go through with it. Considering that they were a big company, I thought that I was going to get some professional service. Instead, with their new "downloads guarantee" or whatever they call it, it makes me wary of what kind of organization it is turning out to be. And with so much junk coming out from them, I'm not sure I want to stick with them either.

Just my thought.
Well it looks as if Mr Eisenman returned my call last night claiming I didnt give him sufficient time to take it down.

That being said Handango has taken down the site after 1 year and I am still waiting for my commission report..
msmobiles always talks about handango. what a bunch of slackers. they deserv what's coming to them. are they not thwe same group that trys to make a profit of?n free software?
Wow Dave..... between your MacPro nightmare and this, you're just having a bad week! I have sworn off Handago as they now charge a "fee" if you wish to desire to download purchased software after your initial purchase. I now purchase either from pocketgear or directly from developers. I don't blame you for leaving handango. Good on ya'.
do sites really ever make any money from affilate programs ?

Sure you are entitled to the income though ?
