Anyone managed to get this unit to run on the HSDPA network in US? Am informed that, like the HTC Breeze, it's capable of HSDPA. Would like some input on this cos in S'pore, only one Telco has HSDPA & it's v unstable. I'm thinking of subscribing to their service when it stablizes. I currently the Dopod 595 aka HTC Breeze.

Frankly, I can't understand why any manufacturer -- especially one like HTC -- wouldn't produce all of its devices for all markets.
I can't believe that it would substantially add to either R&D, marketing, or manufacturing costs to do so, and in fact, it might actually reduce them by having a simpler product line.
Also, there is the simple fact that PEOPLE TRAVEL -- especially the business users who are the primary buyers of their expensive gear -- and (although I could be wrong on this) most business travelers take their phones with them and expect them to work!

Maybe HTC SHOULD start caring more about the US market, especially since WM sells well here. In the rest of the 95% of the world, Nokia and Symbian devices have been kicking WM's butt for quite some time.

Note my comment where I state this phone is of no good to US Cingular users (the largest GSM provider).
It can work on Tmobile, but they don't have 3G in the US.
This phone may be great for Europe, but it is a BAD IDEA for the majority of GSM users in the US.

I agree nojetlag ..This is why the MTeoR is not available in the USA.

The device is perfect,it's first of all an UMTS device and 900/1800 band is WORLD Standard for GSM. The world doesn't revolve around the US that has 850/1900 for what ever silly reasons. Good to see that HTC cares about 95% of the world and not the rest 5%.

There are serious flaws with this unit -- namely the facts that it lacks support for the 850-band on GSM and the 850/1900-bands on UMTS/HSDPA.
Unless you're a T-Mobile user in the US, or you're in Europe, this phone is really useless!
If you're a US-based Cingular user, stay VERY FAR AWAY...
