Developers starting to lock out features on iPhone 3G

Sorry iPhone 3G customers if you wanted to use the video feature of the new Twitterlator Pro app! If you look at our screenshot you will see the feature is locked out to only those who are part of the iPhone 3Gs owners.

So I'm sure all will be hacked, just so boring that we have to resort to jailbreaking to be able to use functions the 3G can clearly handle. I had hopes to not have to jailbreak 3.0, but now I'm I will still need to do it.
All this kind of shit from Apple is really annoying me. They must be worried that the iPhone 3G S update is so weak that they have to neuter functions in the 3G which it clearly has hardware to handle!!
But still...

Of course any app that has "not-approved" features will have a hard time making it into the store. Just ask Skype and Slingbox. So they compromise.

But still, it's a shame that capable hardware is deigned easy access to an app (it will be hacked of course) for purely business reasons. It's a symptom of a non-competitive market.
Think of it from a general consumer's point of view - if they bought a 3G iPhone and Twitterlator pro, then took videos, they'd start scratching their heads.

"Gee, why is my iPhone only taking video in this app?"

One call to Apple later = disappointed consumer, although if they read what Apple had always said, they'd know their phone never did video.

Of course, the general consumer wouldn't know about jailbreaking - nor the wonderful battery draining properties it seems to have for some people. Put this down to poor coding on Twitterlator's part or an inability on an Apple API to distinguish between 2G, 3G and 3GS handsets...
Yes but not officially, there is no way on earth that Apple are going to approve an application that enables video capture on any other model than the 3GS, come on it's not going to happen or it will make them look stupid
Chris that a bunch of BS! The iPhone 3G does support video! Case closed! I use it always on my jailbroken Iphone!
"Support" should be in "". Will Apple ever learn that quality doesn't always matter, just the fact you can do it is enough for most.

I record video on my 3G iPhone a lot and it works just fine...
Just what chrissyboy said!
Yeah because the new iPhone 3GS supports video, thye others do not
