Pro’s
Let me start out by saying that the device itself is nice. I like the design and the form factor. It is a little bit bigger than my Dash and my iPAQ 6900 but I found the size manageable. The unit is finished in black plastic, and has a non-slip surface
The keyboard is quite nice. The raised keys feel good and are spaced just enough so I did not fat finger anything.
The display is very good and since it runs Windows Mobile 5 Phone edition I can use a stylus. One hand operation ala SmartPhone is also nice.
Con’s
Power:
I did not like the fact that once the unit goes to sleep you have to press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to get it to wake up. I have never had to do this with any device.
Processor:
Texas Instruments OMAP 850 processor running at 200MHz, actually it is more like 180MHz. I was able to overclock the processor to 216MHz but it did not make much of a difference. I was not able to run the programs I use daily on the Dash or 6900.
Reception:
Not as good as the Dash, 6900, or Motorola Q. I was very disappointed with the call quality as well.
Conclusion
As I stated before the overall design of this unit is nice. I like the scroll wheel as well as the software package that i-mate includes. The performance and reception are the big issue.
