A great tidbit from an old friend...

MediaBlab - digital entertainment for everyoneMy good pal Jake Ludington sent me up a note wanting to inform our readers that he has fingured out how to sync Google Calendar with Outlook and Smartphones automatically!! Yes automatically!!

Jake writes:

"My big complaint about Google Calendar was lack of support for easily syncing calendar data with my smartphone. I use Outlook for my personal information management because it's still the only thing that puts all my data in one place the way I want it. Google Calendar's iCal export made manual syncing with Outlook possible, but I want to get all my calendar data from my computer to my phone automatically. RemoteCalendars solves this problem, making ongoing data sync simple after a convoluted setup process."

Go checkout how Jake does it!!

And I am just the person that likes these "neat" features. In my case, I don't have access to sync my mobile device with my PIM information OTA without using some sort of 3rd party software. This workaround helps aleviate that!
Because IpaqFanatic, if you use Google they can bypass any corporate security restrictions and give out your business information to whomever!

By they way, I'm being very sarcastic!!!

Google is really pissing me off, as well as other IT folk that are into security for their companies with all these "neat" features that people just have to have.
Is the only benefit of using a Google calendar the ability for online editing anywhere?

I use 4smartphone and my Treo700w, and I must be missing something. Can someone 'Sell me' why I should use google calendar?
Yeah Jake does some fantastic work!
Great piece! :) I just switched over to Google for my PDA homepage and a new google gmail account. I will have to now look into Google calendar. :)
