Get HSDPA speeds on your Treo 750

Now this didn't take to long since it already worked on the 750v's released for Vodafone. But for the last two days I have been going nuts trying to get this to work and figured out the easy way! All you need to do is download this zip file and expand it. Once it is expanded connect your Treo 750 to your PC and copy the HSDPA.exe file to your Windows/ directory and copy the HSDPA.lnk file to your startup folder. Thats it.. Be warned ... Reboot two times and wait at least a half an hour before you get upset. The Treo needs to sync with the HSDPA signal for a bit and you are golden!

For some reason I can not copy the files. I don't know if I am doing something wrong or putting them in the wrong place. Can someone please help?
So a given area can be umts and NOT HSDPA?
Jerry you have to be in a HSDPA area as you are aware. I will bet you it will work when you are in Manhattan
Was reading over at TC. Seems some people are getting the same 350-400kb like me.

If I understand this correctly, it is enough to just delete the files to "disable"? Or, do you have to disable via the .lnk, soft reset, then delete the files?

Most likely - My speed is signal dependent for sure. When I have good signal strength I can get above 800KB - 900KB, when signal is low, so is my speed... 350KB - 450KB.
I could be getting lower speeds because I could be in a "fringe" area. I will have to see what happens when I go back to work in Manhattan next week.
Glad you like this one... JNGold, you are right - this hack has been out for a few. So far my best speed has been 1120 kbit/sec BLAZING!

Also, big thanks again to Mobility Today for the SlingBoxAV. With this hack and my new Treo 750, SlingBox works GREAT!

Well I tried it. The highest I got was 404KB. That's at midnight.
Jerry the hacks you have heard people were not patient enough.. Once you drop these two files wait 15-20 minutes THEN you will see the hsdpa.
If this is the same hack that's been out for awhile, I have heard mixed reviews. Some get it to work, others don't.

I also hear that you shouldn't apply this if you coonect to a vpn.

Needless to say I will try this out. However, I will have to drive a couple of minutes from my home to pick up a 3G signal.
